For months now I have been experiencing a brief network interruption (or hiccup), and I can’t seem figure out why. I have a Dell Latitude D600, and I have never had any problems with the Latitude series in the past. The symptoms are as follows: My screen blinks & my curser is no longer on the page or open dialog box it was in. I experience a very slow shutdown & startup due to the “shutting down and establishing” network connections. Windows Explorer hangs more times than not when opened. When I’m logged into launch.yahoo.com the music just stops and I have to start it all over again. On a side note – when I mouse over Start -> Programs most times it starts to open the programs but then just turns gray & I have to wait until it renders the folders & icons. Attempted resolutions include: checking the event log, running a virus scan & spy ware utilities, changing the speed & duplex on the NIC, updating the BIOS & NIC drivers, and I even had Dell come out & replace the NIC. Nothing seems to help… perhaps someone else can.
