Network path in Windows Registry

I understand that there is a way to set program network paths in the registry.
For instance:
Running some applications to use gateway 10.5.73.xxx and other applications to use gateway 209.210.43.xxx

We have dual IP’s working on Win95 machines, just can’t seem to get these applications to use seperate paths.

Any ideas, books or courses that anyone has would be most appreciated.
