New bug in MS Office 2003 file open dialog?

Has anyone found that Save as or Open in Office 2003 has recently stopped working properly?
Word, Excel etc now hang if I try to drop down the folder combo in Save As. Is this due to a recent MS update? I cannot find anything on their web site.
