I have had several users complaining of poor network performance. I have ran several different network scanners to try and determine the problem, but all report no error on the network. I have found that one workstation is constantly making MNPI Broadcasts to a ton of differnt IP addresses. Using the older Microsoft Network Monitor I see “Locate server Name [Machine] xx.xxx.xx.xxx WorkstationName [MsgId=32932]” over and over again to different IP addresses. I found a patch for a vunerability in 98 that mentions the NMPI broadcasts, installed it but it did nothing. Can anyone help me to determine what is going on here?
