No WEB page backgrounds in I.E.

I’ve done the usually, scanned for virus, spyware/adware, deleted temp files etc. There is no “background” to any of the WEB pages in Internet Explorer on any WEB site I visit. I have reset all I.E. settings to “default.” Any ideas?
