Not too fussed

As long as the installation steps are logical, complete, and unambiguous I am not fussed about text/GUI/colours/etc. Provided that the end result is a stable install of the product.
I agree about the boring progress bar. One *NIX install I did ages ago showed pop-up screens instead with hints, tips, and feature notes. Something interesting to look at while the files were loading.
