NT 4.0 Browser Problem

I am having trouble with the browser service on my NT network. Our PDC is NT 3.51 and two BDCs are both NT 4.0. From the BDC I get the message “Browser service has failed to retrieve the backup list too many times on transport \Device\NWLINKIPX. Thebackup browser is stopping.” which is in my event log.

The protocols for the network haven’t been changed, no new software added either yet this problem is cropping up a lot now. Please let me know any suggestions.
