NW 4.11 Srvr losing conection to WAN

I have a NW 4.11 Server that keeps losing its connection to the WAN. It has a new NIC connected to a new switch, and the NIC is set on IRQ 12. It is a compaq proliant 2500 w/cpq NIC. Any suggestions as to what may be causing the problem?
