Odd Settings

by k.grass . Updated 21 years, 8 months ago

I have a SOHO client that has two XP Home machines. One machine is a dual-boot XP Home machine with the installations residing on separate hard drives (not partitions). They are networked and connected through a D-Link router with one printer on the dual-boot machine.

What is odd is that when the second XP installation is running the other machine’s desktop GUI always reverts to the other machines desktop GUI, i.e., Bubble-gum GUI then the other will be that setting as well, Windows classic then that will enable on the other as well.

Now, before we go off on the, “must be a virus or spyware” tangent (I say this to save you your valuable time and input) both computers are free of any such malware.

It seems to me that a system file or a Registry hive on the dual boot machine is being shared however it is not. The C:drive is not sharing anything other than the default networked settings folders and resources.

Would really appreciate your help on this one guys. This is most perplexing! TIA
