on a new m75 Asus M/B the SD Chip is not being read,how do I fix this?

I put the SD chip in and it does not read it . All else works just fine I’m running Win 8 . Could there be that I’m missing something? Please help We do editing and I’ve got projects that need to get done. Thank you for any help with this issue!
