Outlook Calendar- delete recurring booking

A recurring booking (with no end date I’m guessing) was made, the person no longer works here. Nothing I’ve tried can get rid of this,usually “permission denied other user” or something similar. Our IT support desk confirm the employee’s id is deleted from our db, but I still can’t budge it. Any/all suggestions appreciated. Thanks
