Outlook Shuts down when monitor wakes

I have an intermittent problem when my monitor wakes after being off. If the last task I accessed before my monitor goes to it’s scheduled shutdown (45 minutes), the task shuts down. In the case of Outlook 2003, it presents it’s normal shutdown message about deleting files in the Deleted folder. If the last task was Internet Explorer (updated thru XP Pro SP2), that task will close. I can’t find anything related on Technet or the MS Knowledge Base.
