I have a client running Outlook 2010 (no Exchange) on Windows 7 Pro laptop to collect gmail. He is on a mailing list for a certain committee sending important updates to a large number of recipients. If he attempts to open or even clicks once to select this mail item, the system stalls for near 90 seconds or more. I have tried altering settings in Word/Outlook but haven’t found the right cocktail yet. On my own Windows 7 system running Outlook 2010, I connected to his gmail account and was not able to recreate the problem. For whatever reason, the people sending these emails put everyone’s addresses in the TO field instead of BCC but there’s nothing we can do to correct this and my client definitely wants to continue to receive the emails. He just doesn’t want the interruptions that come with waiting for the laptop to recover from each encounter.
