Peer to peer network Windows xp and 98se

Keep loosing the network on the windows 98se machines.
Have to run the network wizard again and again to get the network back and sometimes have to reinstall the network cards. Now one machine wont’t go back on the network.
Is it possible to clean the network out of the registry or do I have to reinstall windows 98se.

Why is this happening?
