Please help with Libre Office compatibility with MS Office 2007 files?

I recently downloaded Ubuntu 11.04 to try out with the idea of replacing Windows Vista with it. I have two problems however:

1. I have been putting out a weekly newsletter us MS Word for the last 9 years and I won’t move out of Windows unless I can retain those files as I am constantly referring to them and taaking things from them for newer newsletters. So far I have not figured out how to get Libre Office to read these files properly. Can anyone help?

2. I also need Hebrew capability and a number of fonts for this newsletter. I figured out how to turn on the Hebrew but most of the fonts I use don’t seem to be recognized. Where can I find more?
