Printer driver crashes in XP

by info . Updated 20 years, 11 months ago

Working on a network at the minute for an architect. There are four PCs networked, and 2 printers which are attached to jet direct boxes. 2 of these PC’s run NT4, 1 on 2000 and 1 on XP. All PC’s will print except the 1 running XP, it has problems printing to an HP Designjet 500. It will print a test page from windows fine, but as soon as you try to print from Autocad 2005 an error message is displayed to say the driver caused an error and had to close, leaving nothing printed.

I have changed the printer drivers to the latest from HPs website, I have tried printing direct IP to it, I have attached it to the back of another PC and shared it out. All to no avail. The XP PC used to print fine, and all the other pcs still do. The XP PC is also the only 1 running Autocad 2005.

I’m tearing my hair out!
