printer problems

Printer lites indicating no paper and no ink cartridge install, I purchased a new cartridge, but printer does not recognize installation. Also when paper is loaded the printer continuously spits it out until empty, then once again the no paper no ink cartridge appears without any printing what so ever…HELP, I,m no computer gunious
