Printer redirection settings

my printers are showing up on my 2008 R2 rdp server but my local setting are not redirecting, for example my local printer is set to print black and white, but when we log into rdp the server takes the printer driver default setting which is loading up as color by default.
Anyone run into this issue before and know how to fix it?
