Problems with audio in XP after installing Itunes

Hi,

looking for some help after installing Itunes on my PC with XP home edition installed.

After installing Itunes my PC was happily playing tunes from the hard disk in MP3 and .wav format, but when playing direct from a CD via the DVD-ROM RW the disk seems to be ‘sticking’ like an old gramaphone, with both Itunes and Media player hanging when trying to access the drive. The drive is still fine for reading data CD’s.

i have since restored XP to my previous settings prior to Itunes but I am still getting the same response from media player.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
