Programming

I have just completed VB programming (a year course. The main motvater of me doing a course in VB is beacuse I love database. My other aim is to be able to program games (it is not for the money, it is for the satisfications you get when you producesomething like that) Is there any advice you can give on how to pursue on game programming using VB?
