Re-direct a Network Path to a Local Drive

by philbulldog . Updated 12 years, 3 months ago

Hi. I have some software at work that accesses files on network drives using their full network address eg \\server\publications\book.txt. This address is hard-coded into the software. I want to work from home, so I need to map a folder on my local machine so that it looks like the network folder. When the software tries to access the network location, it gets re-directed to my local folder. I have trawled the net and can’t find a solution to this. I am running Win 7 Pro. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Phil.
