Update: at work we’re blocking every site I’ve tried. Looks like I’ll be going with the USB flash drive after all. That guarantees I’ll leave it on whichever computer I used last. Crud.
I have a personal project I’d like to be able to work on from both work and home. This looks like a good opportunity to investigate web-based file storage systems, as opposed to using a flash drive. I’ve never had a reason to look at these tools before now.
I’ll be the only one working on this project. I’ll be using Windows computers at each end, if that makes any difference.
I don’t expect to need more than a couple of hundred megabytes; probably less. The files will be mostly text; no pictures, music, or other multimedia files are involved. There’s nothing confidential or proprietary about the data, should it escape / be liberated into the wild.
I’d prefer to avoid installing a local client application, if possible. I’d prefer a service that has file storage as its primary function, and doesn’t do too many other things like e-mail, social networking, content publication, etc.
Obviously, I’d prefer something free.
A bit of web searching turned up several popular options. Unfortunately, the TR spam filter is preventing me from listing them by name. Do you have any preferences?
Thanks.
