Recovering Data from Blue Screen of Death

I’ve been given a hard drive that will no longer boot Vista and keeps looping a Blue Screen of Death (page fault error).

The only way to fix the problem according to microsoft and google searches is to format the drive and reload vista.

My friend wants to save some pictures so I’ve used the various recovery programs on Hirens Booot CD 9.5 but none of them allow me to transfer data to my second hard drive (Both HD connected via Sata)

Can someone recommend a program that will allow the data transfer in a non windows environment?
