Recreate the Share Folder After Restart

by working it . Updated 21 years, 3 months ago

I am running a Win2000 Server.

Everytime the server restart, there will be some error log inside the System Event Viewer.

Event Source: Server
Event Type: Error
EventID: 2511

The error is indicating that the server service was unable to recreate a share “SharedName” because the directory “C:\Shared Folder” no longer exists.

But I have unshared this share “SharedName” and deleted the directory long time ago. I open the Computer Management Console -> System Tools -> Shared Folders -> Shares. I can’t find this “SharedName” there anymore.

Why my server still trying to recreate it during restart?

It is not only happening to one deleted share folder but also happening to other share folder that I have deleted, too.
