Reinstalling MacOS from DVD on 2007 Polycarb Mac – HELP!!

Hey all,

I am trying to reinstall MacOS to a 2007 Polycarbonate MacBook after replacing the old drive that died. I put in an Adata 120gb SSD. When I try to boot from the Snow Leopard DVD (by pressing C on startup) I get no apple logo or cursor, only the DVD spins up then stops multiple times, and then it pops out. If I start up with holding option, I get no apple logo, only a cursor and no disk selection menu where I could select the DVD.

Any suggestions? Much Appreciated in Advance!
