Remote Desktop

I have a XP Pro system that will not allow me to remote to it i can ping the address but will not allow me to remote to it. I have check the firewall SP2 and it is set to allow remote desktop connection and I have turn on remote desktop and remote assistance and gave my self permissions to remote sesssion to the pc but still no luck when I remote to the system no connection any suggestion??
