removing copy protected software

I am trying to remove copy protected software from my windows xp machine.I do not want to delete the software because I am going to use it on another computer.I had originally moved the software from a windows98 machine.I had no problem moving the software between my windows98 machines but when I moved it to my xp machine it would not allow me remove it.When I use the utility to move the software it gives me the error “you cannot move to a non-master removable disk under windowsNT”.Do you know of any sofware that i may be able use to move these files? Or if there is any way in windowsxp that i can move them.
