Routing And Remote Access – Strange Behavior, Service requires stop and sta

by rancherm . Updated 20 years, 9 months ago

Hi,
My system (WinXP (SP2)) lost its connection to my ADSL modem. At first, this loss was accompanied by a malfunctioning of the ipconfig instruction.
The situation is as follows:
1. My Routing and remote access service is configured for automatic start.
2. When the computer boots, it’s ina started position,
3. When I type “ipconfig /all”, it ends with an error.
4. When I go to my services, stop Routing and remote access service, then restart it and then try ipconfog, the instruction works as expected.
What’s wrong?

p.s. This may look like a minor annoyance, but since this may be the cause for another problem, a major one, I’m looking for its solution. The major problem is that my system doesn’t recognize my adsl modem, leading to inability to establish network communication.
