RTP Hamachi VPN? JMF

I am trying to transmit RTP data over a hamachi vpn. I am using the Java media framework to do this and I can currently send RTP data while in a local network. I was wondering if it was actually possible to send this data and connect to the RTP stream via hamachi because I have had no success so far. Please help would be much appreciated
