sata hdd formatting problem

i got a new 80GB sata HDD and partitioned into 70 GB and 10GB and try to install the win2kserver in 10GB partition by formatting it,but it start formating c drive bcoz its having more space. upto 99% its formating well ,while finishing its showing that hdd having problems or damged. so i bring new 80GB sata and tried the same ,again it is showing the same error.

but it is get formating if i install OS in 70GB and also no errors.

so u KING of IT ..pls clarify the doubt
