Seagate Backup Exec.

by chrisis . Updated 25 years, 9 months ago

I have Four servers with Scsi Tape drives. They are all maitained thorough Seagate Exec.
I rotate the tapes daily weekly and keep one per month. Problem: Several times when i check the status in the mornings one of the backups has a error. it has spit the tape out and stated that the tape if full and rewound please place the second tape in(something to that nature) well the percentage backed up = 0. So i place several BLANK tapes in and i receive the same error even though the tape is formated. Now if i leave that same tape in and the scheduled nightly backup kicks in that night, it works fine. Why is it that no matter what tape or if i re schedule the backup to happen at that time, it states that the tape is full. Note this happens on two other separate servers(not all the time)Is this a bug with Seagate, cause the limitations are incredable.
thanks
