I suppose that this might be a simple question to some of you but I do not know where to turn else for good advice.
I must set up a small private network for six computers in a LAN environment. Connected to the LAN are one network printer and one plan printer. Also one local printer, a Xerox XJ6 DeskJet witch is connected to a Win 2000 operating system that has no compatible driver as far as I know.
I am running NetBEUI and TCP/IP of witch TCP/IP has got the Class C IP address rangeof 192.0.0.193 – 199 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0. These IP addresses are adjusted to the LAN printer’s settings and the printer has got a gateway set as 192.0.0.192. It is an HP printer.
I can get only one computer connected to the LAN printer but not any of the other computers, though they can ping the printer. The rest of the systems are operating on Win 98 and is set up as a Windows Workgroup with ordinary file sharing witch is working fine. In addition to the Win computers, is there a Apple printer
