Its a new computer I have a amd 64 athlon, asus a8v delux, socket 939, radeon 9250 128 mb, 120 gig maxtor, 512 x 2 of sampson ram. running windows xp pro, My friend did the install which went smoothly untill we had too boot up, we needed to have only one stick of ram, it would not boot up in dual mod, after some time of rechecking and disabling and retrying, went to the help at the web site and thier was our answer in the qustions form, one stick of ram, the ai on the board keep saying it was overclocked.
once we got that done than came time to install the flash bios, another pain, my friend did as the booklet and what was said on the web site for installing the bios, he ended up using a bootable floppy from windows 2000 and kept trying to install the bios as instructed, after much time figured out it was case senstive upper letters, the bios comes up in the first screen shows its there 1009. than the next screen comes up looking for the bios and says its not installed but it does boot up sometimes with a extra screen sometimes not, but it always works, my friend is much more into the techinal than I am and will understand things you say in a techanical terms. is this a fixable thing or is it suppose to be like that. the asus web site and the booklet are poor in instruction, any help would be great!
