Shutdown from Internet Explorer

I have a Compaq Presario Computer (Desktop), and running Windows XP .

Whenever I am using Internet Explorer to surf for few minutes, suddenly it would shutdown Internet Explorer and go to Desktop screeen.

What do I need to do to fix the problem.
