I have a P.C. clone, p233, 64 megs ram.
My problems started with AOL. Or at least that is the first sign of the problem that I saw, every time I would go into AOL, my system would lock up. I would have to turn off the power to get back up. I removed AOL, and re-installed, AOL is now O.K., However..
the system will not shut down, -not the typical shutdown problem- When I do a reboot or shutdown, the screen greys-out slightly(normal), then right back to windows.
through my troubleshooting, I attempted to run regedit, it pops on the screen for half a second, then goes away!
Everything seems to be running o.k., but I am anal about these kinds of things! I have to know whats wrong! By the way, I checked for viruses, ran SFC and reloaded windows, no changes!
I restored the earlist registry that was listed using scanreg/restore at the dos prompt. again, no change! Do I have a corrupted registry, or is that just a symptom of some other problem? Please Help!
