Sick Display

by cst . Updated 21 years, 3 months ago

When setting up a multi-user 98 2e workstation, I logged in each user to the Server 2000 domain. Each time, Windows asked “you have not logged onto this computer before, do you want to keep a profile of your settings, etc.” and I said yes. Not a problem for the first 2 users. When I logged out then wanted to login the 3rd person and answered the question in the same manner, the login script ran just fine as it did with the others, but this time, the display went out of whack, you could see a very dark and grainy screen with icons out of proportion and could hardly make out at all what the desktop icons were. It was only because I knew what keys to press that I got myself out of this ugly mess and restarted. I tried logging in the same user to another workstation and had no problems at all. I then went back to the multi-user workstation and tried logging in as the other 2 users again, no display problems here for either. I deleted the profile for the 3rd user and this time when logging her in, I said NO to the Windows question about keeping a profile on her. What happened here and how can I fix it?

Thanks in advance.
