Slow Population of Network Neighboorhood

I have a PC connected to a different subnet (192.1.2.1) thru a ACT router to my other site (192.1.1.1) and am using WINS server to provide name resolution.

It takes a long time for the PC on the subnet 192.1.2 to see all the nodes on subnet 192.1.1.

Is the a way to make this quicker or is there a configuration change I can make to speed up the process.
