Just started working on HP Netserver E60 with a seagate Tapestor Travan 8GB Atapi. The tape drive works when I manually do back up using NTBackup. I schedule an unattend using AT command. The back works for a couple of days then stops working. I try to run NTbackup and nothing. I can’t get it to come up. Task manager shows ntbackup.exe as a process that is running. When I try to end process, access denied. I reboot the server and then I can access NTbackup, but it says foreign tape loaded, even though it is the same tape. I erase the tape and run back up and it works. The unattend back up sometimes works, nut most of the time it does not. The first scheduled back up or two days latter, the Ntbackup hangs. Server is still up, but I can’t access NTBackup unless I reboot the server. Problem with SP3, and SP4. I even tried IE4 with the Task Scheduler that replaces the Schedule service. Any ideas?
