SMB observation: How do you know you have outgrown your accounting package?

Many small and midsize businesses (SMBs) find themselves having to upgrade their financial/accounting software — often because of their growth trajectory.

I’m trying to understand what are the most common signs/triggers that SMBs can use to make the decision at the right time.
