I am trying to deploy SMS 2.0 SP2 as a small, single site system (~200 users). So far I have encountered the following problems:
– Network discovery is completely unreliable, only picks up DHCP leases, and stops after 2 minutes.
– Manual client installation does not work, as SMSman.exe can’t find a server to manage the client.
– NT logon discovery automatically installs the client sw. I cannot use this as we have many RAS users, and slownet.exe is also completely unreliable.
SMS &SQL are installed on a dedicated server, on the same IP subnet and NT domain as all other servers and clients. Clients are DHCP and have been picked up through the DHCP server. All servers have static IP’s and cannot be found.
Can anyone offer some advice?
