Software install results in Acrobat Reader wanting to install…

Hello. I am a Macintosh user but have someone who is having a
bit of a bad day. They are trying to install some software under
Windows XP (I am ASSUMING Home) but each time they try it is
trying to install Acrobat Reader.

Now I am not sure but ought there not be some sort of Install
Manager, or some such creature, which needs to be TOLD to
accept the installation at face value?

Please advise- I am out of my depth here.
