Sony PCG-FRV26 part deux

So, still working on this shell of a machine laptop. For some reason, whenever I’m typing something in, it automatically backspaces and erases it. It happens on web forms, the internet explorer address bar etc. What could be the cause of this? More importantly, how to fix this?
