Starting Windows XP without keyboard

Has anyone been able to boot Windows XP without keyboard and mouse attached (e.g. server rebooting) and then been able to get Windows to recognize attached keyboard?
I know it will recognize a USB keyboard, but not a PS/2 keyboard if it wasn’t there at boot time
