I have a customer with the following configuration:
Netware 4.1 Server
Adaptec AHA-2940au SCSI card [SCSI 2]
ArcservIt 6.6 backup software
HP T4000e tape backup drive – Firmware 1.07
I continue to get the following error message randomly about three times a week.
Board ASPI Board 00 id 04 SCSI 10 Host Adapter Error=04
When I have this situation I can down the server, but cannot exit back to DOS 6.22. Therefore, I must physically shut off power and then reboot. Reboot is accomplished without error. The other problem that happens concurrently with the error message is that the tape drive will not recognize a correct tape in my rotation set, therebye stopping daily backup of server. I can’t get anyone to define error message.
For HP Tape Drive only: I have downloaded 1.10 firmware update for T4000, but when I try to update it stops with the following message:
SCSI library initialize failed
What does this mean?
