Strange msg after clicking User Accounts

by galahad04 . Updated 21 years, 1 month ago

When I try clicking the Control Panel’s “User Accounts” button on a newly installed copy of Windows XP Pro SP2, I receive a strange error message dialog box. The dialog box has the title of “Internet Explorer Script Error”.

It then reads “An error has occurred in the script of this page”, followed by:

Line: 4
Char: 1
Error: Access is denied.
Code: 0
URL: res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\nusrmgr.cpl/nusrmgr.hta

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
[Yes Button] [No Button]

I can still configure and customize any User Account profiles I want after clicking the “Yes” button, but I keep getting this error message whenever I try starting up the “User Accounts” button. Also, I tried performing a format of C: drive and re-installing a clean copy of Windows to see if the problem would go away, but the same thing is occurring after the clean re-install.

Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.
