Stupid table question

There is a nested table to the left, a nested table to the right of that that lines up at the top with other table, and then all text goes into the table cell below on the right. Thetop of the text should align with the top of the cell (VALIGN=”top”).

My question is: why does the formatting look spot on in NN 4.7 and 6.2, but IE 5 pushes the text way down to the bottom.

Any easy answers to this one? It’s not a very complex set of tables, and I’m sure there’s a better way to achieve the same effect, but I can’t for the life of me figure out why these tables are misbehaving.
