Summary File Property Info

Can anybody help me extract the Summary information that appears on the File Properties dialog. In particular I would like to be read (writing would be a bonus) the data held against pictures imported from my camera but I guess this extra data mustin a standard format otherwise XP wouldn’t know how to process it for the Properties dialog. I am writing in VB6.
