Hello,
I am having trouble finding out the right pagefile size and location. I have read this thread: https://www.techrepublic.com.com/5100-10879_11-5728295.html?tag=search as well as many other articles about the pagefile including Microsofts article about it.
Now I am currently working on a Windows 2000 Pro machine with 196 MB of RAM and 1 HDD of 8GB. The pagefile on the partition where Windows is installed has a minimum and maximum value of 32MB. I have created a seperate partition for the pagefile which is about 1GB. The minimum and maximum values of this pagefile are about 1GB.
I am using 2 pagefiles because Microsoft recommends to leave a pagefile on the system partition and have a seperate partition for another pagefile. The same minimum and maximum value should prevent the file become fragmented. The system monitor shows that on full load the computer uses little over 300MB of pagefile. Since I can spare 1GB for the pagefile are these settings right or should I set the maximum pagefile to be more around the 300MB range?
