Trying to install a new 2TB hard drive

I am trying to upgrade the hard drive (to a 2TB hard drive) on a Dell OptiPlex 9010 desktop.
When trying to install new OS (Windows 7), the hard drive is not detected.
Please can anyone help me out on what I should do.
