Network with one Novell 4.11 server, one NT 4 member server and approx. 35 users. Ethernet with two Cisco 3500 switches linked with GB modules. All NIC cards are Intel 10/100 Management adapters. All workstations and server are Compaq. Workstations run WIN95 or WIN98. I have three workstations, Compaq Deskpro EP-P550’s, which cannot connect to the network on bootup. On boot they come up as if there is no network. There are no login screens. After bootup login is possible through network neighborhood. Have latest drivers, Novell client 3.2. Tried setting speed and mode on NICs. Frame types set to 802.2 in client. TCP/IP connection is solid. I believe the machines are booting faster than the NIC can initialize but can’t find a way to slow down the machine or speed up the NIC. Any ideas?
